Q. Where is St Mary at the Quay?

Image:KA_Map_copy.jpg

A. It is on Key Street by the water front in Ipswich where all the cranes are. There are three churches on the water front and this is the middle of the three and has a weather vane with a key on the tower. It is right opposite the "Live at the Mill" banner on the one way system.

Parking tips: Cardinal park ( the big cinema complex) is free after 6pm, very useful for evening events.

Here you can find more information on the history of this beautiful space: http://www.suffolkchurches.co.uk/stmaryatquay.htm

Q. Who owns the Church?

A. The The Churches Conservation Trust run it and Key Arts programme the space.

Q. How can I get more involved?

A. You can get us organised in our office. You can set up exhibitions in the Church. You can get us some publicity or design some flyers. You can propose your own exhibiton or group show in the Church. You can invigilate an exhibition. Get in touch, we would love more help if you have a little time to give.

Q. How can I use the space at St Mary at the Quay?

A. You firstly have to be a Member of Key Arts. Then you will need to make a proposal using this form

Q. I'm going to use the space. Is there a plan of the floor area I can use?

A. Here is a plan of the church. The boxes marked 'E' are double 13A sockets. The plan is reasonably accurate, however I forgot to include the side entrance door (not sure how I managed that), and the profiles of the columns either side of the 'stage' aren't accurate (too fiddly to measure). The plan was drawn last year and since then the boards surrounding the pillars have been removed and replaced, so there may be some variations there, too.
