Artist’s Statement

The subject matter of my work is the landscape that I encounter and the emotional response that it generates.

Influenced by the early British landscape artists I have used the drama and the variety of the East Anglian countryside as a source of inspiration. Time and place are not important to me but I hope to create a sense of nostalgia and memory revisited. Currently I am experimenting with different combinations of etching processes in order to create various tonal and atmospheric effects. I use photo sensitive emulsion as well as hard and soft ground, combined with other effects.
